    Christchurch Schools Music Festival at Town Hall

    Luckily, I got a ticket from Teresa to join Christchurch Schools Music Festival yesterday. Teresa's daughter, Doris, also attended the performance the night. We went to support Doris and on the other hand, i was rather curious about New Zealand schools music education.

    To be honest, both I and Teresa didn't expect too much from the show. However, it was definetely awsome! Those students were absolutely not professional, thoug they seemed to enjoy the music so much. I was especially attracted by a little boy in yellow top who would shake his head and open his mouth as wide as possible with passion whenever he sang. Maybe the difference between western and eastern culture, we also found most of the conductors were rather energic and cheerful compare to reserved, serious eastern conductor style. Whereas, it does not mean that the music standard of Taiwan or other Asian countries would be not as outstanding as the students' performance here. On the contrary, i feel confident with the high standard of student chior in Taiwan. Believe it or not, I do think so!
